Oñoirũ yerba mate is currently produced by more than 134 farming families, members of the Agroecological Agriculture Association of Paraguay Oñoirũ.
“Oñoirũ” is a word from the Guaraní language, meaning “Companions” in Spanish.
The Oñoirũ Production Plant is located in the Districts of Edelira / Itapuá Poty, Itapuá Department, Paraguay, becoming a national reference center for agroecological farming.
